Big Surprise: Bush Pushing for More Smog in Final Days
Oh, Georgie Porgie. How I will NOT be sad to see you go.
As much as I was elated when Obama was declared The Great Victor on Election Night (I cried, dribbled snot, did a little dance in my pajamas and slept well for the first time in nearly…8 years), I knew, you knew, your mom knew that ‘ol W was still like a rattlesnake in the bushes, just poised to strike in his final days of office.
One such attack is the one underway on the Clean Trucks Program. It’s nearly brand-new, and a wicked clean air and anti-global warming program that the rest of the nation should, like, take notes from and stuff.
Bush and Pals, however, are trying to block the program to support–what else?–special interests. Reducing emissions by 80% may be all well and good for, you know, our lungs and the environment and babies and stuff, but it’s not good for bidness.
So tell Congress that we’re not buying it. We think that clean air is kind of a big deal, and they should too.
