Vacation, All I Ever Wanted…
I was fortunate at my last job to have lots of vacation time, but many Americans (including my husband) aren’t so lucky. In many developed countries, do you know people often get a minimum of four to six weeks of vacation a YEAR no matter what their job is? OK the US is a great place, and some of the best people I know live there, but man your vacation time is limited! Your country sure likes to work. In the UK I used to get 5 weeks paid leave a year plus public holidays, here in Sweden it’s at least that (plus paid sick leave, plus paid leave if kids are sick). Of course now I’m freelance there’s so thing as paid vacation/sick leave!
I know, right? It’s pretty ridiculous.
