Yay Bono
Even if you’re not as big a U2 fan as I am (and I’m a big one, so if you’re not one, I certainly don’t get it), you gotta admit, that Bono sure is eloquent. Check out his speech above at the 2008 California Women’s Conference and you’ll see what I mean.
What better way to help people than to teach them how to help themselves? Bono reminds us that we can’t ignore the vast amounts of global poverty happening around the world. I know it’s rough times right now; hell, I’m (very unexpectedly) unemployed at the moment myself. But I’m a far cry from not having access to clean, safe water or food. It’s important that our leaders uphold their promises–and NOT just to their corporateWall Street cronies.
